What is acoustics ?

The diagram above gives some indications on the extent of acoustics and
on the associated disciplines. The first ring (in yellow) starting from
the center contains the traditional subdivisions of acoustics, and the
external ring external (in green) contains the names of the artistic
and technic fields which it covers; the angles point out the four great
spheres of human activity.
