Short CV in English Yves Aurégan (born in 1962) is Director of Research at the CNRS. He has been the head of the Acoustics Laboratory of the Université du Maine (LAUM) from 2004 to 2011. After passing the competitive "Agrégation" exam in Mechanics at the Ecole Normale Supérieure de Cachan, he obtained a PhD in acoustics and then the habilitation to direct researches at the Université du Maine. He first became interested in the production of human snoring, before turning towards the study of the effects of flows on the acoustic behaviour of discontinuities in ducts, especially on sources due to eddies. He is now working on the effect of flows and high temperatures on propagation in ducts treated with absorbent materials. Yves Aurégan has managed many contracts with both public institutions and French industrial companies (AIRBUS, Snecma Propulsion Solide, Snecma Moteur, EDF, etc.).
