The PROPASYM proposal has been accepted (2013-2017). This is a project funded by the region of Pays de la Loire regarding the exploration of asymmetric acoustic propagation based on nonlinear and nonreciprocal effects.
The ANR Metaudible (2013-2017) proposal has been accepted. The goal is the design of a thin acoustic metamaterial for the absorption of sound at low frequencies.
The FP7- PEOPLE- CIG : ComGranSol proposal has been accepted. The subject of this proposal is the study of the complex dynamics of driven granular solids.
My research has been focused on the interface of nonlinear dynamics and condensed matter physics. In particular, using an approach that involves a combination of theoretical, computational, and experimental techniques, I have pursued studies in nonlinear dynamical systems, wave phenomena, acoustic-mechanical properties of materials, and atomic Bose-Einstein condensates. These fundamental studies have also inspired experiments and the design of advanced acoustic structures. The synergistic approach that characterizes my research originates from my multidisciplinary background that includes graduate studies in theoretical physics, postgraduate research in applied mathematics, and my experimental activities in granular media and acoustic metamaterials.
