2016 - Present: Leader of the working group of Acoustic Metamaterials for audible sound in the GdR Meta. Member of the committee of the GdR.

2016-Present: Leader of the Working Group of the Insolation Research Group of the Work Package 1: Theoretical and Modelling of Acoustic Metamaterials, Sonic Crystals and Porous Materials in the COST Denorms.

My research is transversal and lies in the frontiers between different topics as Metamaterials, Crystalline structures, Acoustic materials and disordered systems.

My interest is focused on the wave propagation in complex media paying special attention to several wave phenomena as perfect absorption, diffusion of waves, transparency, cloaking, band gap engineering, waveguiding, filtering, surface waves, and diffraction among others.

My interest is both theoretical and experimental trying always to combine both in each work.

I have participated in the exhibition Acoustics and Beyond, launched at the final event of the DENORMS Action. This event was organised in Coimbra (PT) to celebrate the end of the funding of the Action by the COST Association. The exhibition Acoustics and Beyond is shown from 21st February until 31st October in the Science Museum of Coimbra. It shows objects and interactive installations made in universities all over the world, straight out of the laboratory. You will discover how sound can travel, and how science helps to keep the noise around us low.

Visit the exhibition by clicking in this link. Enjoy it!
